Curled up in a fetus position
not only at night but sometimes
in the light, when no one else in
site, because he knows he's is
capable of so much more he
refuse to give up the fight.
Struggling to believe in what
he can not see as he tries to
give what he did not receive.
With many books of knowledge he
want to know how in the world do
i give what i never receive to his
lovely wife, to his beautiful
children and most of all to himself.
With his laughter so strong
and beautiful, you know the
type that fills the room,
I see him struggling to keep
that too. But little do he know
that soon there will be no more
tears at night nor in the light for
God has made all things right.

Country Cure - poem version

Country Cure

After two long years of fightin in a hot dessert war
He made it home in one piece – but his mind needed a cure.

When he left home we was just nine-teen – an innocent kid
The boy returned a bitter man –angry from things he saw and did.

Thinking the cure would be in his big city partying ways
He spent his nights out drinkin – druggin – life in a haze.

His body got sick and he realized this life offered no cure
So he packed up and left –to wander the world- home soil no more.

Country Cure - song version

Country Cure

After two long years fightin dessert war

Nine-teen years, just an innocent kid

Pushing back all that chaos and rage
He spent his nights in a drunken haze
But, that couldn't fix what needed a cure
And, he'd never last or even endure

Off to the world he went searching his heart
Beggin' his memories to tear from the war
But, it stalked him like a hungry beast
No matter his journey it just wouldn't cea… Continue
